Damyang is a country located near by Gwangju, in Jeolla Province. The local product is bamboo and strawberries. So I recommend you to visit Damyang, while you come to Gwangju. Let's check it out!

1. Visit Juknokwon (Bamboo Forest)

Bamboo Forest is a famous tourism in Damyang. If you have visited Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Japan, they have similar ambience.

2. Visit Metasequoia-lined Road and Meta Provence

Both places in one area, so you may to visit both!

Metasequoia-lined Road

Damyang Metasequoia-lined Road is one of Korea's most beautiful paths. Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s by the Ministry of Internal Affairs after National Road 24 was rebuilt (kto). The prettiest time is on autumn. It has an entrance ticket.

3. Culinary Pork Ribs or Tteok Ribs

Damyang is famous with tteok ribs (떡갈비), pork ribs with tteok. It is so delicious because all ribs are cooked on charcoal. So, don't forget to have a lunch or dinner in 달빛뜨락 한식대첩. They have 3 branches in Damyang, and I went to number 2.
